Picard is transported to a strange sealed room with three beings Esoqq (Reiner Schone), Haro (Joycelyn O'Brien) and Tholl (Stephen Markel). Any attempt to leave the room is met with punishment, but Picard is determined to gain their freedom before one of them dies. Meanwhile, on the Enterprise, Picard is apparently taking the ship far off its scheduled course!
