Spock in his first command.Unfortunately the hokey 60s sensibilities undermine some of this story (neanderthal giants?), which would otherwise have been a fascinating examination of logic versus emotionalism; it is reduced to a merely interesting one. Kirk's half of the story is much more diverting: rules versus responsibility. Still, the interpersonal relationships are what make Star trek interesting and this is full of those. Watchable.
This is the first use of the urgently-needed-medical-supplies-diversion tactic.
