Episode propaganda

Voyager encounters a Borg ship while Chakotay (Robert Beltran) and Ensign Kaplan (Susan Patterson) are on a routine mission to a nearby planet. Suddenly, while out of communication with Voyager, the away team is viciously attacked. A badly injured Chakotay regains consciousness to learn Kaplan is dead, their shuttle destroyed and his rescuers are not all they seem to be.

Intelligence report

So that's what happened after Wolf 359.

The rescuers are ex-Borg, released from the collective when their subspace transmitter went offline. Almost an entire cube's worth of drones is down on the planet, disagreeing with each other. Except for one group, they want to form a co-operative consisting of all these diverse beings. There's an old aphorism which I will drag out for you: the worst form of dictatorship is a democracy imposed from without.

You can see where this is going. Ethical meat and three veg. Yummm!

It's a yucky, nasty episode with no winners, except for... well, I will leave the rest of that for you to discover....
