Poor Harry. Again.
The science behind this episode is somewhat dubious. So is the logic. So is the décor. It also seems to cater to the straight man's perennial fantasy of watching two women have sex. Or three. There's nothing wrong with that in itself, but I feel Star trek is already too patriarchal (not to mention white, middle-class, heterosexual and North American). Why couldn't B'Elanna be kidnapped and fawned over by a bunch of men? Or Janeway? Somebody write some fanfic!
You know, sometimes the people at Paramount get really silly, and run with story ideas that don't have the legs. And sometimes they let them happen because they are getting close to the end of the season, and they want to make the final episodes seem even better. Does this mean that I'm a cynic? I think that just maybe I am. But that doesn't mean I'm wrong, just cynical.
Watch Favourite son, if a 9:1 babe ratio is your thing, but don't expect too much. This is not a classic Star trek episode.
